All of it!
- The T10 tokens.
- The Arena season gear
- The mounts, all of it!
Let’s not kill the players with more grinding. Let’s make all the loot useful to someone.
I know, Ninja time…
At least make the emblem gear all BoA. You main has a hundred emblems rotting in the bank? Buy your alts some new threads.
Your a tank or healer that wishes you could DPS, or at least swap rolls, but you are barely in heroic gear…
Why can’t your main give you a leg up?
Instead of personal, or guild banks, have account banks where all your emblems can be stored. Let it be your decision who makes the withdrawal and lines up at ToC!
Gnomer and Out!
OK, you got me.. this isn’t the post I intended for today, but I am afraid there is so much exciting stuff going on. My new home is now my new home. Odin and I went and had a look last night… he was so excited that 2 hours after his normal bed time he conceded that it was time to leave his new unfurnished bed room and head home.
Anyway.. a few projects in the works… you may have seen yesterdays….
If you don’t see a post when you expect it… smile, it probably means I am trying to work out how to squeeze the couch in through the front door…

I’d love to see badges made BoA. Other stuff seems excessive.
Excessive… Yes, but why complicate things… Just make it all BoA
Hope you guys get settled in soon!
The house is pretty close to the Melbourne Airport. I’m picking up the truck about 8.30 Saturday morning… What time should I expect you?
Weather is good here at the moment (about 102f today), beaches are close and there’s a cards night planned for Saturday night… You can grab the duty free JD on the way in and I’m sure my makes will be happy to fleece you (no 5 cent coins allowed!)
I couldn’t agree more with making more stuff Bind-on-Account. I don’t know if absolutely everything should be, but definitely the following:
– any items represented in the Currency tab
– mounts
– vanity pets
And yes, I hope your move went well. 🙂
Ya, I’d at least like to see the rare mounts and such you get from feats of strength as BoA. I got an Amani War Bear on my mage, but switched mains to a shaman in Wrath, which would fit a war bear much better. =(
[…] and post about some other things, but I was going through my RSS and got distracted. Gnomeaggedon started this ball rolling, and Wow.com picked it up. The question posed is, “Should we just make everything […]
What? Making _current_ emblems/tokens BoA would lead to even more grinding, instead of one strong char to equip others, some people sure would create many other characters to “farm” those items to buff their main character, considering how many emblems you need for T10.
[…] actually sparked my interest (amazing, I know). The topic of discussion was prompted by a post that Gnomeageddon wrote yesterday – what if everything in the game was […]
I agree completely –make it all BoA so I can play a different class if I want to and not have to gather up all of my favorite pets/mounts/tabards etc. all over again. Also that way I can share my extra useless Emblems of Triumph/whatever with my alts
And this is exactly what’s wrong. Instead of saying “meh, I don’t like this class anymore, I want to reroll”, you should try to explain what you don’t like about the class and ask e.g. on the official forums to improve that, so that your class becomes as fun as the others again.
This actually works, as seen with the improvement of hybrid classes’ non-healing trees after Classic, the soloing capabilites of healers, up to beginnings of making dps roles more challenging and thus rewarding than pressing two buttons repeatedly.
This is a RPG game after all, not a FPS where you can choose another character template at the beginning of the next round. Focus on the individual character’s importance and development, not expendable, interchangable and predefined models.
You should have a certain bond at least to your main character, alts of course can be just for toying around.
If you abandon your character at the first sign of him being “not fun”, maybe you shouldn’t play a RPG.
Of course there are indeed valid reasons for rerolling, e.g. new classes, races and combinations of the two, but those are the exception among the many rerolls, most can be summed up with “eh, this sucks, give me something else”.
Not everyone plays the game that way, Nathanyel.
I like having a bunch of different characters. It’s not because my main “isn’t fun”, it’s because the others are fun in different ways. Some days I feel like being a druid. Some days I feel like being a paladin.
Why should I have to be penalized for playing multiple characters? If a rare flying mount drops on my druid, sucks to be me because I’m never going to use it, though my priest would have KILLED to get it. If I want to gear up my death knight, but my friends need a healer, should I tell them no because my healing characters already have more emblems than they know what to do with?
New classes are not the only “valid reason” for rolling other characters.
[…] days ago, Gnomeageddon suggested to make a bunch of stuff BoA, specifically things like Tier Armor tokens, Arena season gear, _all_ mounts and vanity pets, etc. […]
