I asked for it, and apparently I am such an important figure in the WoW blogging community (yeah right!!) that less than a month after having a whinge Blizzard have introduced REAL Instance Maps (well OK, announced would be a better word).
New World Maps Added to Raids and Dungeons in Patch 3.1
I have been hunting for confirmation of this, so thanks Spooner for once again being my source of cool and groovy WoW news.

It is about time they added this!
Yeah.. years… years of frustration.
I read somewhere about WoW getting into maintenance mode, or BAU mode (Business as Usual).
It’s like they are ticking off all the original requirements that got pushed for release of Old World, then TBC…
Now riding on a crest of subscriptions, rather than putting off the crew that got WoLK up, they are running back through the list, checking it twice and implementing those things that “would have been nice”
I guess we have all been saved a lot of dramas thanks to those wonderful UI developers working away on a voluntary basis…
Things we “can’t do without”, the Outfitters, Auctioneers, Talented’s, the list goes on and on…
Wow that will be so nice! The instance maps that come with addons are nice enough and a huge improvement over no map at all, but I’m the kind of directionally challenged person that needs to be able to see which way my arrow is facing to know where I’m going! *facepalm*
lol I am not much different.. but I would suggest worse… I need a party members dot so I can point my arrow at it…
Hallaluhia! I’ve been hoping for this for years!
It’s about time! 😀
It’s about freaking time, it’ll be a welcome change.
I kinda hope that they retrofit all the old world dungeons with these as well 😀
@ Hulan, Syrana & Luthvian. Agreed 100%. I can’t believe it has taken this long… every other Gnome and their polymorphed rabbit has been able to at the very least provide a static map… Not sure why it has been so hard for Blizzard.
@ Spooner: /bow Thank you for all the fantastic work you put into summarizing (and expanding upon) the news and views of WoW. You are generally my 1st port of call for updates, as they are always concise. I appreciate the hours… you often seem to be dropping from exhaustion, only to see some more news that needs to be distributed.
